Genetic Testing

Genetic testing is done on a blood or saliva sample. The sample is collected at UCSF and sent to a specialized laboratory to look for the hereditary cancer mutation that was found in your family member. In some cases, based on your personal and family medical history, the genetic counselor may recommend additional testing.
